The Feed Dealer Seminars are specifically targeted for nutritionists, veterinarians, crop and management consultants, extension educators, and dairy producers with specific interest in nutrition-oriented topics. They are designed to blend the latest concepts in feeding and other management aspects of dairies with field level application. They have been conducted annually as a road show with multiple sites in New York for many years with an additional Vermont location held during the past several years in collaboration with the Northeast Agribusiness and Feed Alliance.

On January 18, 2018 in Syracuse, the New York Beef Producer's Association is presenting a day-long session on the cross bred dairy calf. Speakers will include farmers and extension professionals with experience in this field. The keynote speaker will be from Wulf Genetics working with Genex to supply beef bulls of various breeds to use on Jersey and Holstein cows. To date they have raised and finished over 50,000 cross bred calves. Plan to spend the day and learn about how this enterprise may fit in your dairy operation to provide another source of cash flow. Mike Baker, Cornell University's Beef Cattle Specialist will review the nutritional needs of the beef cow, how the environmental conditions impact feeding, and how the stages of pregnancy affects her needs. This informational meeting is for all farm owners, family members, and employees who manage their farm's manure. All farms, regardless of size are encouraged to attend. This is a DEC approved Manure Applicator Training that is required for CAFO farms. A certificate will be provided to each farm that participates in the meeting.
