Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County invites farms, food-based businesses and agricultural businesses to join them on Friday, February 23rd, as we hear from a variety of presenters on NYS grant and low-interest loan programs for farms & food-based businesses for who have been in operation for more than three years.
Presenters at this session will include:
- USDA:·Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service & Soil & Water Conservation District
- USDA Rural Development (Value-Added Producer, Meat Processor Expansion, etc...)
- USDA Ag Marketing Service (Farmers Market Promotion Program, Local Foods Promotion Program, etc...)
- NBT Bank
- Farm Credit East
- NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets
- NY Farm Viability Institute (Beginning Farmer & NY Grown & Certified)
This is a great opportunity to learn about the options for accessing financing, conservation programs, and other resources to grow your farm and/or food-based business!
The cost to attend is $30/farm and pre-registration is required. Coffee and pastries will be available in the morning and a lunch will be provided. All questions can be directed to Laura Biasillo at lw257@cornell.edu.
