Topics relate to the future potential of agricultural products, environmental sustainability, and updates on pest related issues. The course objective is to educate and disseminate research findings to the farming community as well as extension faculty, staff, educators, and industry representatives.

The Feed Dealer Seminars are specifically targeted for nutritionists, veterinarians, other consultants, extension educators, and dairy producers with specific interest in nutrition-oriented topics. They are designed to blend the latest concepts in feeding and other management aspects of dairies with field level application. They have been conducted annually as a road show with multiple sites in New York since the late 1940s and provide opportunities for educational programming with networking in the local regions.

For dairy farmers, the pleasure of historically high milk prices in 2014 has turned into the prospect of significantly lower milk checks for 2015. The component based pricing system for milk offers a means to achieve higher profits with the same level of milk production. Many producers have gained and maintained higher milk components even with Holsteins consistently surpassing the 3.5% BF and 3.0% MP standards.
