Raising Healthy Livestock: The Basics of Feeding, Health, and Quality Care

Raising livestock can be a rewarding enterprise. There are many things to consider, including what to feed, how to keep them healthy and how to handle them. Cornell Cooperative Extension NWNY Dairy, Livestock & Field Crops Team is holding a workshop for livestock farmers to help address these topics. Focus will be on ruminant livestock.
Speakers and their topics include:
• Dan Underhill, Agri-King, talking about forage and grain testing and feeding quality feed;
• Allen Fournier, DVM, Maplewood Veterinary Associates, P.C. covering keeping livestock healthy - prevention, vaccinations basics; and
• Nancy Glazier, Small Farms & Livestock Specialist, NWNY Team is talking about livestock safe handling and systems, and quality assurance programs.
Event supported by W.H. Rhinehart, Middleport, NY
