4th Annual Hudson Valley Textile Project Summit

Event Details

Date

July 30, 2021

Time

9am - 4pm

Location

Empire State Plaza Convention Center
Meeting Room 6
Albany, NY

Host

A gathering of farmers, makers, designers, manufacturers, educators, and others interested in strengthening NYS's textile supply chain.

Keynotes by Clara Parkes, founder of The Wool Channel and author of six books including the New York Times bestselling Knitlandia, and Cecilia Nelson-Hurt, motivational speaker on knitting and the advancement of diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging. Detailed agenda to be posted by mid-July - keep checking www.hvtextileproject.org. Parking information is also on the website.

In-person Summit Registration Fee ($30/person for current HVTP members) covers speakers fees, facility rental and meals (no outside food is permitted in the space, gluten-free and vegan options available). Participants are responsible for their own parking charges. The state-mandated limit to number of people allowed to attend was lifted to 300, but all safety protocols at the time of the event will be enforced. The Summit will also take place on Zoom; and there is no cost to current HVTP members to register to attend virtually. Proof of vaccination - either NYS Excelsior Pass or CDC vaccination record card, is required to attend in-person. You may email a copy of your card in advance to hvtextileproject@gmail.com

There are a limited number of scholarships available for Summit participation. To apply, send an email to hvtextileproject@gmail.com with a statement of interest. Emerging textile industry professionals and young and beginning fiber farmers are encouraged to apply, as well as members of traditionally under-represented communities.

If you are not currently a member, then you will need to join as part of your Summit Registration. Hudson Valley Textile Project, Inc. (a NYS non-profit corporation) dues are $75/year. There are many member benefits in addition to the annual Summit Registration. See details on www.hvtextileproject.org.

This year's Summit will also feature a Member Makers Market where up to 30 participants can set up a 1/2 table (tables provided) display of materials, designs, products and services for wholesale or cash-and-carry retail to other participants. There is no charge. Sign-up when you register - first come, first serve.
